At Yes2Health Wellness Clinic in Narellan, remedial massage and sports treatment focus on relieving muscular tension, improving mobility and supporting tight, overworked or uncomfortable muscles.
Whether you are experiencing neck and shoulder tension, lower back discomfort, restricted movement, muscle tightness from exercise or general physical stress, each appointment is tailored to your main area of concern.
This is a targeted remedial treatment rather than a full-body massage. Rebekah prefers to thoroughly address one priority area during a 60-minute appointment rather than treating several areas at a lesser standard. The 90-minute appointment allows additional time for a more complex complaint or multiple related areas.
Treatment may include remedial massage, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, stretching and cupping where appropriate.
Benefits of Remedial Massage
Remedial massage may assist with:
* Neck, shoulder and upper-back tension
* Lower-back discomfort
* Tight or overworked muscles
* Muscle stiffness and restricted movement
* Tension-related headaches
* Post-exercise muscle soreness
* Muscular tension associated with posture
* Stress-related muscle tightness
* Flexibility and range of movement
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are sensitive areas within tight muscle tissue that can contribute to local discomfort or referred pain.
Trigger-point therapy involves applying targeted pressure to these areas to help release muscular tension, reduce discomfort and improve movement.
This technique may be incorporated into your treatment depending on your needs, presentation and treatment goals.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping uses suction cups on the skin to work with the muscles, fascia and surrounding soft tissues. It may be incorporated into your remedial treatment to assist with muscular tightness, local circulation and soft-tissue mobility.
Depending on the area being treated and your individual needs, cupping may include:
Stationary cupping, where cups remain positioned over targeted areas
Myofascial sliding cupping, where cups are moved across lubricated skin
Active cupping, combining suction with controlled muscle activation
Active movement with cupping, where specific movements are performed while the cups remain in place
Cupping is optional and will only be used where appropriate and with your consent. You may choose remedial massage without cupping.
Temporary circular marks, redness or mild skin discolouration may occur following cupping. These marks are not required for the treatment to be effective, and the level of suction will be adjusted according to your comfort and individual presentation.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your appointment begins with a discussion about your main concern, relevant health history, muscular tension and any current or previous injuries.
Please identify the primary area you would like Rebekah to address. If you are unsure, your treatment priorities can be discussed at the beginning of your appointment.
Your treatment may include a tailored combination of remedial massage, trigger-point therapy, myofascial release, stretching and cupping.
The advertised appointment time includes assessment, history taking, time to change, hands-on treatment, stretching or lifestyle advice, payment and patient notes. It does not represent 60 or 90 uninterrupted minutes on the massage table.
